Tech Impact Club Africa: The Journey So Far

Our vision at to TIC Africa is to harness the power of the internet to create synergy amongst like-minded Africans by crowd-sourcing resources that will make a lasting impact in Africa using technology has gotten off to a great start and we are so proud of how far we have come. Have you been paying attention?

In the year 2020, TIC Africa backed Mentor An African Child Initiative (MACI) during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic surge and we were able to create and equip the MACI Ideation Hub in parts of Lagos and Ogun State where at least 86 learners are continuously equipped with weekly Digital skills and STEM education classes. We were also able to sponsor 300 beneficiaries including teachers and learners who otherwise could not have participated in the learning process without financial aid.

In 2021, we pitched our tent with the Mums Who Code community, an organisation focused on equipping women, especially mothers with tech skills for inclusive tech participation and economic empowerment. The Digital Women Bootcamp 2021, sponsored by TIC and coordinated by Mums Who Code trained 500 women from across 12 countries including Nigeria in Digital Literacy, UI/UX Design, Storytelling/Graphics Design with Canva, Programming with Javascript and Python. A good number of these beneficiaries have been able to pivot to new careers in Tech, become their own bosses and secure excellent global internship placements.

Watch this video to see some beneficiaries share their stories and the impact our efforts have had on them.

We are proud of what we do at TIC Africa and we know you are too. Join us to change the world for good, one life at a time. Find out how to be a part of this by contacting techimpactclub@gmail.com
